We collect as little personal data as we can. This page explains what we handle on the website, in the demo and in the app, and why.

Who we are

5Sense is responsible for the processing described on this page.

For any question about your data, write to info@5sense.eu.

This website (5sense.eu)

  • Cookie-free visitor statistics. The website sets no cookies and uses no advertising tools. To see how many people visit and which pages they read, we use Plausible Analytics, an EU-based service that sets no cookies and does not store IP addresses or build visitor profiles. It counts page views, the page you came from, your country, device type and clicks on buttons such as "Try the demo", without identifying you.
  • Demo and contact forms. To open the demo, we ask for your work e-mail address. On the contact page, we ask for your e-mail address and your message. With each form we also store the page it was sent from, the time, and a scrambled (hashed) form of your network address, which we use only to stop one address from sending too many forms. We use your e-mail address to answer you and to contact you about 5Sense. This is our legitimate interest in following up when you show interest in 5Sense, and you can tell us to stop at any time. We send no newsletters and do not pass your address to anyone else.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical data of each request (such as IP address, browser and the page requested) to deliver the pages and protect the service. We use this only to run the website.
  • Fonts, images and videos on the website are served from our own hosting, not from third parties. The only outside script is the cookie-free Plausible counter described above.

The demo (demo.5sense.eu)

The demo needs no account; the website asks only for your e-mail address before it opens (see above). Its sample plant and everything you change in it stay in your own browser and are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

The app (app.5sense.eu)

When your company uses 5Sense, we handle two kinds of data:

  • Account data: your e-mail address, your first and last name and, if you register a company, your phone number, your password (stored only in hashed form by our database provider; we cannot read it), your role and which units you can access.
  • Your company's 5S data: units, workstations, standards with text and photos, checklists, audits, tasks and ideas. It can include names that people type in, such as an auditor's name, and photos taken on the shop floor.

We use this data only to provide 5Sense to your company: to sign you in, to show your company's data to the people your company has given access to, to send the e-mail that confirms your address when you sign up, and to send a password reset link when you ask for one. When you register a company, we may also call or write to you about getting started with 5Sense and about your account; this is our legitimate interest in supporting new customers, and you can tell us to stop at any time. We send no newsletters or notification e-mail from the app, and we do not pass your contact details to anyone else.

Your company decides what goes into 5Sense and who can see it, so for the 5S data your company is the controller and we process it on its behalf. Please avoid photos in which people can be recognised, and enter only the names you need.

The app keeps you signed in and remembers settings such as the language by storing them in your browser (local storage). It sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The app and the demo load their fonts and QR code tools from our own domain, not from third parties.

Payments

When your company pays for a plan in the app, the payment is handled by Paddle, which sells 5Sense to your company as our reseller (merchant of record). Paddle collects the payment details, the billing name and address and tax details, sends the invoices and handles this data as its own controller. Card details never reach us. From Paddle we keep only the identifiers of your company's customer record and subscription, the plan, the number of extra manager places and whether payments are up to date.

The payment page in the app (app.5sense.eu/pay) loads Paddle's checkout script from Paddle's servers, so Paddle receives technical data of your browser, such as the IP address, when that page opens. No other page of the website, demo or app loads Paddle.

E-mail to us

When you write to info@5sense.eu, we receive your e-mail address and your message. Our forwarding provider, ImprovMX, passes the message on to our mailbox. We use it only to answer you and keep it as long as the conversation needs it.

Who processes the data

  • Vercel hosts the website, the demo and the app.
  • Plausible Analytics (EU) counts website visits without cookies.
  • Supabase stores account data, your company's 5S data and what you send through the website's forms, and handles sign-in, on servers in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany).
  • Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France, EU) sends the account e-mails from no-reply@5sense.eu: the sign-up confirmation and the password reset link. For this it receives your e-mail address and the content of that e-mail. We use it for nothing else: no marketing and no notifications.
  • Paddle handles payments for paid plans as our reseller.
  • ImprovMX forwards e-mail sent to info@5sense.eu.

Some of these providers are companies based outside the EU. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep data

What you send through the demo or contact form is kept for 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we do.

Account data and your company's 5S data are kept while your company uses 5Sense. When the company's account is closed, we delete its data. To close an account or to delete specific data, the account owner can write to info@5sense.eu.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, to limit how we use it, or object to its use. Write to info@5sense.eu. If the data belongs to your company's 5S data, we may pass the request to your company, as it decides about that data. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Changes

When we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date at the top.
